LaBella Associates Takes the Scenic Route to Something Sweet
The Great American Road Trip is a theme that evokes nostalgia across generations, whether you are reminiscing about your own family vacations as a child, traveling with your own kids or grandkids, or the fond memories you conjure up are lines from your favorite movie classic. From natural parks and landmarks to must-see amusements and cultural attractions, the landscape of the United States is vast and varied and offers more options than one family could ever cover in a lifetime!
Let’s face it, road trips are full of opportunities to stimulate the senses and create core memories. Just imagine:
The sound of dropping a coin into the binocular viewer at a National Park
The sight of a colorful sunset, completely unobstructed by built features
The smell of saltwater and sunscreen after a dip in the ocean
The taste of a frozen treat from a little mom and pop ice cream stand
The feel of the ground beneath your feet as you walk barefoot in the sand
Whether you were the one to press play on the camcorder or the VCR or your brother was older and always got to do it, we wish we had digital copies of all those early “reels”. Though the way Americans navigate and experience travel, share photographs and video, and even communicate has evolved in the 100 years since Route 66 was constructed, the desire for a family to build strong bonds and create unforgettable shared experiences is something that is universal and will never go out of style.
Team LaBella has been hard at work designing this year’s entry and collecting donations to support The Food Pantries’ commitment to meeting a family’s basic needs, and we made it a point to keep the fun in fundraising along the way. Our twist on Pi Day raised money by allowing staff to “Save” a coworker from getting a pie in the face. Despite our best efforts, someone in each participating office had to take one for the team!“
