Rolling Up Our Sleeves: New Leaf Energy Prepares for CANstruction 2026
At New Leaf Energy, community impact is at the heart of what we do—and our team is proud to bring that spirit to CANstruction 2026.
In the lead-up to this year’s event, seven members of our Troy office CANstruction team spent an evening volunteering at the Regional Food Bank during the holiday season—one of the busiest and most critical times of year. After work on December 16, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work sorting through donated produce from local supermarkets, identifying what could still be salvaged and distributed to food pantries and soup kitchens the very next day.
It was hands-on, messy work—but incredibly rewarding. Knowing that our efforts helped put fresh food on the table for families in need made every minute worthwhile.
Our team has also been hard at work fundraising to support our build. We organized a Super Bowl squares pool to cover the cost of non-food materials and supplies, allowing more of our contributions to go directly toward purchasing food for donation. It’s been a fun and effective way to rally support while staying focused on CANstruction’s mission to fight hunger.
Behind the scenes, preparation for our structure is well underway. We’re putting the finishing touches on our design and gearing up for the next phase: building. This includes cutting all of our leveling boards by hand—a big task that will require multiple team work sessions in the coming weeks. It’s an ambitious effort, but one our team is excited to take on together.
We’re looking forward to bringing our design to life and contributing to another impactful CANstruction event. Stay tuned for more updates—and a first look at our final structure!
