About Our Platinum Sponsor: PCI and their Great AmeriCAN Road Trip-Built One Cleanroom at a Time

If you mapped the future of American innovation, it wouldn’t follow highways, it would trace a path through cleanrooms.

From Texas to North Carolina, Michigan to upstate New York, a new kind of “road trip” is underway—one that connects industries, technologies, and the future of U.S. manufacturing. At PCI, we’ve had a front-row seat—and a hands-on role—in building that journey.

Stop #1: The Capital Region – Where All Started

Every road trip starts somewhere. For PCI Malta, that start was New York’s Capital Region.

Fifteen years ago, we began with a temporary trailer on a project for GlobalFoundries in Malta. Today, we’ve grown to a team of 30 with a permanent, expanding presence at the STEP Technology Park, continuing to support GlobalFoundries, NY CREATES, and a growing list of upstate clients.

With major investments in semiconductor research and fabrication, the region has become a cornerstone of America’s push to reshore advanced manufacturing. Behind it all are cleanrooms—the precision-built environments where even microscopic contaminants can impact production.

Stop #2: CANstruction – Giving Back

As part of our 15th anniversary celebration journey, the PCI team found an organization tied to our industry making a meaningful contribution to our community – Canstruction! While there are many great not-for-profits and causes in our region, this one tugged at our hearts. Not only does this event showcase the creativity and talent of our profession, it provides needed food and funds to help feed many in need. We are proud to be among the firms sponsoring and participating and supporting The Food Pantries.

Stop #3: Scaling Across America

Like any great road trip, the journey doesn’t stay in one place.

As demand for semiconductors grows—driven by AI, electrification, and supply chain priorities—cleanroom construction is expanding nationwide. PCI teams are supporting projects coast to coast, bringing expertise in cleanroom construction, tool installation and rigging, prefabrication, and design-assist/design-build delivery.

This mobility matters. Experience gained in one region carries to the next, driving consistency, speed, and reliability wherever we go.

Stop #4: Expanding Our Capabilities

As we’ve grown, so have our services.

In addition to cleanroom construction, PCI’s Malta team now provides drywall, insulated metal panel (IMP) installation, and tooling and rigging services. Our teams have delivered metal stud framing, drywall, and ceilings for Rivers Casino and Hotel in Schenectady; installed exterior metal panels at Saratoga Airport’s new terminal; and supported ongoing tooling work for GlobalFoundries and NY CREATES.

Most recently, PCI was selected to install IMP for Coca-Cola’s new warehouse in Halfmoon, another example of how our capabilities continue to expand across industries.

The Road Ahead

This road trip is far from over, in many ways, it’s just beginning.

As new markets emerge and technologies evolve, PCI will continue to go where the work leads, supporting clients, strengthening communities, and building the infrastructure behind America’s next chapter of innovation.

Because on this journey, it’s not about the miles traveled.
It’s about what gets built along the way. And we can’t wait to see what the CANstruction teams build this year. We’ll be there cheering you on and lending our hands and hearts for giving back.
